Biography

Lawrence Mwenge is an Health Economist with over 15 years of experience in the economics of HIV/TB interventions in low-income settings. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Zambia and a Master of Science degree in Public Health. His research focuses on economic evaluations of HIV and TB interventions, user preferences, and behavior of HIV prevention and sexual reproductive health. His other areas of expertise include Economic evaluation, healthcare financing and health policy analysis.

A comparative analysis of novel latent TB infection screening tests to drive economic gains in TB Preventive Therapy (TPT) programme in Zambia

While TBI testing increases the cost per individual receiving TPT, introducing Cy-TB would be cost-saving if 3HP or 1HP regimens are used in Zambia, due to more efficient targeting of TPT offsetting the additional costs. TB Feron would only be cost-saving for the 1HP regimen.
