Biography

Kondwelani John Mateyo MD, MMED, FRCP Edin, PhD (student), is a Consultant pulmonologist and Clinician- Scientist based in Zambia. He leads the country's only specialized respiratory unit. The unit focuses on providing comprehensive respiratory care, teaching, advanced diagnostics and cross- country consultations. Dr Mateyo has a number of peer reviewed publications on pulmonary diseases including Tuberculosis. His PhD research focus is on exploring lung ultrasound for TB diagnostics and Artificial intelligence applications. He also currently serves as regional adviser for Zambia at Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh.
