Biography
Dr. Kirsten Prabhudas-Strycker is an Assistant Research Professor at Indiana University School of Medicine. She received a BA in Anthropology from the University of Notre Dame. She completed medical school, combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency, and combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics Infectious Disease fellowship at Indiana University. Her research focuses on HIV and TB-related stigma and access to TB care in East Africa.

Delays in TB treatment among people with pulmonary TB in East Africa: Findings from a prospective cohort study
Women, rural residents, and persons without HIV were particularly affected by delayed TB treatment and should be targeted in TB case-finding efforts. Education and awareness efforts with pharmacies and traditional healers should be considered. Effects of HIV-related stigma should be examined further.
