Biography

Ms Khanh started working in the community-wide screening for tuberculosis project in Ca Mau, Vietnam (ACT3) in 2013. With extensive experience working in a community-based study, together with her ability to function under challenging circumstances in the remote, rural province of Ca Mau, she will coordinate the ACT5 study – a randomised cluster trial to reduce the prevalence of TB among adults in the general community.

Key Impacts

Treatment uptake among people with TB infection detected by community-based screening in rural Vietnam

Overall, a high proportion of people diagnosed with TBI during community-wide screening commenced treatment for TBI. Failure to attend for further assessment was the major reason for non-commencement of treatment.
