Biography

Pr Keertan Dheda holds a joint appointment between the LSHTM (Professor of Mycobacteriology and Global Health) and the University of Cape Town (UCT), where he is the Director of the Centre for Lung Infection and Immunity. After graduating at the University of Witwatersrand in 1992 (Certificate of Merit) he completed UK and EU-accredited training in Respiratory and General Internal Medicine in London. He graduated with a PhD from UCL in 2005 through a British Lung Foundation Fellowship award.
