Key Impacts

People living with HIV have increased plasmacytoid dendritic cells and systemic inflammation if they have history of pulmonary TB

A proinflammatory milieu and immune cell gene expression mediated by TNF persist in people living with HIV even years after TB. If the differences are preexisting risk factors or establish during the natural history of HIV and TB is still to be determined.
