Biography

Dr Katherine J Hill is a Wellcome Trust Multimorbidity Doctoral Training Programme Fellow at the University of St Andrews. In collaboration with the Infectious Diseases Institute in Uganda she is leading a prospective cohort study titled "Multimorbidity in tuberculosis and its impact on patient care (MITICare)" which seeks to describe prevalence and patterns of multimorbidity in patients with tuberculosis in Kampala and to determine the effect on tuberculosis treatment outcomes and progress through care.

Multimorbidity and the risk of post-TB lung functional impairment: A systematic review and meta-analysis

We found an association with increased odds of PTLD in adults who are HIV-negative or undernourished. Research into the effect of other co-morbidities is critically needed.
