Biography

Juaneta Luiz is a medical doctor and clinical researcher with an interest in childhood TB diagnostics, particularly in the context of children living with HIV, malnutrition and the very young, in high TB-burden settings. She manages a paediatric TB clinical diagnostics research unit with a strong capacity development arm, established in 2017 under the South African Medical Research Council Unit on Child and Adolescent Health, Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, at the University of Cape Town. The unit is based at the Department of Paediatrics, Dora Nginza Hospital, Gqeberha in the Eastern Cape of South Africa.
