Biography
Johanna Åhsberg is a medical doctor and postdoctoral researcher specializing in infectious diseases. Her research is based at the University of Southern Denmark, with significant collaboration with colleagues and data collection in Ghana. She has lived in Accra for 3 years, leading the TBPOC intervention trial on urine LF-LAM among severely immunosuppressed inpatients with HIV. She also conducts research at the International Reference Laboratory of Mycobacteriology, Statens Serum Institute, focusing on TB diagnostics in Denmark. Dr. Åhsberg's work centers on HIV-associated TB and HIV co-morbidity, point-of-care diagnostics such as bedside ultrasound, and parallel TB diagnostic test strategies.
