Biography

I am a PhD microbiologist that has been working in the TB research field at the supranational tuberculosis reference laboratory at Public Health Agency in Sweden since 1998. The research has focused on the pheno- and genotypic characterization of drug resistant TB and the development and evaluation of drug susceptibility testing techniques. Since 2020 I am the scientific secretary in the EUCAST-AMST (European committee on antimycobacterial susceptibility testing).

Key Impacts

Multicentre study on the M. tuberculosis H37Rv reference strain using a new EUCAST-AMST reference protocol developed for MIC-determination of bedaquiline, clofazimine, delamanid and pretomanid

Ten laboratories, including nine within EUCAST-AMST, tested the MTB H37Rv strain with the new EUCAST reference protocol for MIC determination of water-insoluble ATTB. For most drugs, intra-laboratory reproducibility was high while inter-laboratory reproducibility was generally lower, but still with a well-defined modal MIC with ± one dilution range for BDQ, DLM and PA determined.
