Biography

Dr Jérôme Nigou is a Research Director at CNRS, and head of the team “Immunomodulation by Mycobacterial Lipids & Glycoconjugates” at Institut de Pharmacologie et de Biologie Structurale (IPBS, CNRS – University of Toulouse). His research focuses on deciphering the molecular cross-talk that establishes during infection between Mycobacterium tuberculosis and host immune cells, with a special focus on the role played by lipids and glycoconjugates. I also aim at translating these fundamental data into new diagnostic, therapeutic or preventive strategies/tools to be explored.
