Social inequities in TB treatment uptake: Results from a qualitative intersectional gender research study in Eastern Cape province, South Africa

Interventions to end TB need to pay attention to structural vulnerabilities. Campaigns and healthcare also need to utilize delivery modes tailored to different groups’ needs. In addition, it is important to address anxieties and mental struggles of PwTB. All this requires centring voices of communities and affected persons when designing, implementing, and evaluating interventions.
