Key Impacts
Predictors of paediatric TB disease in a pastoralist community, Turkana County, Kenya: A case-control study
Pediatric TB in Turkana West is strongly linked to household TB exposure, hospital admissions, caregiver alcohol use, and lack of TB prevention knowledge. Targeted interventions focusing on caregiver education, improved healthcare access, and infection control can reduce pediatric TB burden in similar pastoralist settings.

Sustaining the lifeline: Empowering counties to drive costed integrated specimen referral plans for TB diagnostics
County-led development of costed ISRS models through CSOPs presents a scalable, sustainable approach to strengthening TB diagnostic networks in resource-constrained settings. This model promotes government ownership, enhances resilience beyond donor cycles, and supports equitable access to timely TB diagnosis across Kenya and other high-burden LMICs.
