Key Impacts
Toward a conceptual understanding of intersectional stigma and resilience in DRTB-HIV coinfection
The confluence of stigmas related to DRTB and HIV provokes amplified, intersectional stigma in people affected by both. Positive messaging supporting DRTB-HIV treatment and recovery, psychosocial assistance addressing prevailing inequities, and people-centered approaches to DRTB notification, disclosure and isolation may alleviate stigma, and potentially enable adherence and mental well-being.
