Biography

Dr. Myay Latt Htun is a young public health professional with medical background, possessing 8 years of working experiences in Myanmar through international humanitarian organizations and the Ministry of Health-National Unity Government (MOH-NUG) of Myanmar. His expertise includes TB and malarial control, RMNCAH and nutrition in extremely remote Northern Myanmar. He successfully managed a locally led COVID-19 Management Center during the pandemic peak. Currently he co-leads National Tuberculosis Control Program of MOH-NUG that provides TB services to the conflict affected population. He is also a co-founder and executive director of Heartland Union, a medical humanitarian organization operating in central Myanmar.

Leaving no one behind: Experience of piloting TB diagnosis and treatment service delivery to the conflict affected population in Myanmar

The use of advance technology such as Truenat and portable digital Xray, virtual training coupled with integrated ambulatory service delivery make possible providing essential TB services to the conflict affected population. Neglecting such underserved population would cost their lives and continuing transmission in the population.
