Biography

Hao-Hsuan Olivia Lin is a third-year graduate student at the Institute of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, National Taiwan University, and currently a Visiting Assistant in Research (VAR) at Yale University. Her research interests lie in infectious disease epidemiology and environmental epidemiology. Previously, she investigated the association between airborne heavy metals and autism spectrum disorder. She is currently working with Dr. Hsien-Ho Lin and Dr. Ted Cohen to study the transmissibility of drug-resistant versus pan-susceptible tuberculosis using whole-genome sequencing data and spatial data.

Key Impacts

Pairwise analyses of transmission among individuals with isoniazid-resistant and pan-susceptible TB using genomic and spatial data

Our pairwise analyses suggest that person-to-person transmission dynamics differ by drug resistance status, highlighting the need for tailored approaches to TB prevention and care for individuals with Mtb. Demographic and spatial factors appear to play a greater role in the transmission of DS-TB, warranting more targeted efforts in this population.
