Factors associated with increased mortality among people with lung cancer in Tanzania and Uganda

Late-stage diagnosis, HIV co-infection, smoking history, and worsening symptoms were key factors linked to higher lung cancer mortality in Tanzania and Uganda emphasizing the significant impact of HIV co-infection. The study highlights the need for early detection, increased awareness, and targeted interventions addressing these factors to reduce mortality. Further research is warranted to explore the interplay between these factors and to develop region-specific guidelines for lung cancer management in the context of HIV.
