Biography
Dr. Narendran Gopalan, a post graduate in pulmonary medicine from the Madras Medical College, joined the Indian Council of Medical Research National Institute for Research in Tuberculosis (ICMR-NIRT) in 2002 and has lead high impact clinical trials including the daily vs intermittent therapy of TB among persons with HIV, and as country PI for the STREAM and UNITE4TB PARADIGM4TB trials. He won the NASI-Scopus young scientist award in 2014 and is currently the Senior deputy director (medical) heading the clinical division in ICMR-NIRT. He was recently conferred the Fellowship in Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians, London.
