Biography

Dr. Gavin Churchyard is a physician scientist and President Emeritus of The Aurum Institute. He is an Honorary Professor at the University of Witwatersrand, and an adjunct Professor at Vanderbilt School of Medicine. He was a previous Chair of the ACTG TB Transformative Science Group overseeing a large programme of TB therapeutics research. He is the principal investigator on numerous large TB trials and has led and implemented numerous large cluster randomized trials. He has contributed to WHO guidelines for TB and HIV and has published widely in the areas of TB and HIV treatment and prevention.
