Biography

Dr. Francesco Pappalardo is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Catania, Italy and Deputy Director of the Department of Drug and Health Sciences. He leads the COMBINE research group, focusing on the application of computational models in systems biomedicine. Dr. Pappalardo is a pioneer of in silico clinical trials and has been involved in regulatory aspects with European authorities. He has published over 160 articles in international journals and conferences and serves on editorial boards for major bioinformatics journals. His research includes modeling host-directed therapies for tuberculosis, aiming to optimize treatment strategies through computational simulations.
