Biography
Dr Farai Mavhunga is a medical and public health expert specializing in tuberculosis and HIV/AIDS. He leads the People-centred Services, Communities and Determinants Unit at WHO's Global Programme on Tuberculosis and Lung Health, and has experience in clinical and programmatic management of TB in high-burden settings, and has supported multiple countries in TB, TB/HIV, and COVID-19 responses. He has contributed to numerous scientific publications and has expertise in strategic planning and policy and guidelines development on TB and related comorbidities, including HIV, undernutrition, and mental health, and on TB in populations at high risk and in vulnerable situations.
