Biography
Fadzai Munedzimwe is a public health researcher at The Aurum Institute, South Africa and a PhD candidate at the University of Witwatersrand. She has experience in implementation research and clinical trials in both the prevention and treatment of TB and HIV.
Key Impacts
A comparison of adherence to tuberculosis treatment measured using self-report and urine testing amongst people with drug susceptible pulmonary tuberculosis (DSTB) in Johannesburg, South Africa
Self-reported adherence overestimates adherence and fails to identify those at risk of treatment failure. Integrating objective adherence measures into TB programs may improve monitoring, enable early intervention, and support more person-centred care for better TB outcomes.
