Radiation protection and safety of end users of the portable digital X-ray (PDX) machines for TB screening in Nigeria: Experience of KNCV Nigeria

The combination of multiple approach ranging from retraining of end users on safety, fidelity to manufacturers instructions and use of exposure strings along with enforcing the use of protective devices has ensured the safety of all the end users of the PDX machines, hence the dose measurement over one calendar year has remained negligeable. The use of PDX for TB screening should be encouraged as it contributes close to zero risk to the end users.
