Dr. Evans Muchiri has over a decade of research experience focusing on HIV and tuberculosis (TB) research, and evaluation of public health programmes. He has extensive experience applying statistical methods to medical research in TB and HIV epidemiology leading and contributing to the design, analysis, and interpretation of public health data.
Individuals with CXR abnormalities and negative microbiological tests—who would not routinely be treated for TB disease at baseline had a fourfold increased risk of progression to incident TB. Optimal preventive or curative therapies for this high-risk phenotype should be considered in screening guidelines for TB-exposed household contacts.
