Biography

Pulmonologist based in Lima, Peru, with extensive experience in the clinical and programmatic management of drug-resistant tuberculosis. Currently is member of the technical team of the National Tuberculosis Program, contributing to the development and implementation of public health strategies. Also has a strong background in epidemiology and a keen interest in research focused on the use of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of tuberculosis.

This nine-month, bedaquiline-based, all-oral regimen for MDR-TB was effective and safe when implemented under operational conditions. It represents a valuable alternative for the treatment of drug-resistant TB.
