Biography
Experienced public health professional with a nursing background, and TB research lead at the Health Research Unit in Zimbabwe. Holds a master's degree in public health (MPH), and I am currently registered as a PhD candidate in Medical Research and International Health at LMU Munich. Have coordinated several TB studies. With a strong background in clinical research and public health, my career spans over a decade of experience implementing HIV and TB programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. My PhD research aims to address challenges faced by vulnerable populations in resource-limited settings while integrating innovative, community-focused solutions.
Key Impacts
Characteristics of TB cases and clustering of TB risk factors: An analysis in the ERASE-TB study
Prevalence and clustering of TB risk factors differ by gender, however WHO PAF estimates do not account for gender differences. Our findings highlight the need for tailored prevention and control strategies which take gender into account.

Missed opportunities for HIV prevention, diagnosis and treatment in TB-affected households: Evidence from a household contact cohort study
TB diagnosis exposes systemic gaps in access to HIV care. Among spouses of ART-naive PWTB delayed diagnosis and treatment may contribute to HIV transmission. The high sero-discordance rates and HIV prevalence in these households demand urgent integration of HIV testing and prevention into TB contact investigation. Strengthening integration of TB and HIV programmes is critical to closing these gaps in high TB/HIV-burden settings.
