Biography

Duy Trinh-Hoang is a PhD candidate at the University of Sydney, Faculty of Medicine and Health. His research focuses on community engagement in tuberculosis (TB) research and care, with a particular interest in participatory approaches and health equity. He has experience working in applying social research to understand experience of TB. Duy currently coordinates the Vietnam Sydney Institute's TB Community Advisory Board and is actively involved in projects aiming to improve person-centered TB responses in the Asia-Pacific region.

TB CE must move beyond short-term, project-based models to sustained, community-led engagement. National TB programs should integrate survivor networks and invest in long-term advocacy. Future efforts must prioritize strengthening TB community identity, leadership structures, and embedding CE into TB policy and programs.
