Biography

Delia Boccia is a leading expert on social protection and tuberculosis. She is currently acting as consultant for the Global Tuberculosis Programme of the World Health Organization to support the Department in the consolidation and implementation of the social protection policy agenda. Before this, she worked for 10 years as quantitative social epidemiologist for the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. During her academic career she investigated extensively the role of social protection in accelerating progress towards the end of tuberculosis. The evidence she generated contributed substantially to inform Pillar 2 of the WHO End TB strategy.
