Biography

I have been working as a psychologist at the Resource Centre for Tobacco Control, Cancer Institute (WIA), Tamil Nadu,India, for the past 11 years. My role involves providing tobacco cessation support to cancer patients for better treatment outcomes, as well as counseling the general public. I have conducted numerous awareness programs on tobacco-related health risks, with a focus on lung cancer and second-hand smoke exposure, in schools, colleges, and communities. Additionally, I have led door-to-door surveys in urban slums to identify tobacco users, motivate them for cessation, and facilitate oral and lung screenings, actively participating in community-based tobacco control initiatives.
