Radiology a high-risk section for airborne infections including TB: Array of possible interventions in India

Improving ventilation (ACPH) in radiology section is challenging. Array of alternative solutions are creation of well-ventilated waiting areas; triage, segregation and fast tracking of TB and respiratory symptoms patients; provision of mask to these patients by HCF; identified dedicated machines (digital x-ray, USG) for these patients; token systems for crowd management; segregated radiology facilities for vulnerable patients like pregnant mothers, and children; separate x-ray facility in TB OPD. New radiology facilities should have well-ventilated waiting areas and implement above-mentioned interventions.
