Biography

Dr. Deepak Balasubramanian is a Public Health professional with 11 years’ experience working with the Ministry of Health & family welfare, World Health Organization and various organizations. He has supported the TB programme to formulate policies at the National level on TB Technical & operational guidelines, Pediatric TB, TB comorbidities, TB Prevention. In addition, he extended technical assistance to implement novel interventions at the State level and subsequently supported scaling up successful innovations, for optimal quality of care in India. He presently oversees the TB projects in PATH for the South Asia region.

The TBMP initiative, supported by the E2 project, demonstrated the effectiveness of data automation and capacity-building in improving TB data management using data at a local level result in making real gains in ending TB on the ground. By emphasizing timely data for decision-making and empowering local staff with smart data tools, the project further strengthened TB elimination efforts.
