Ungrouped whole genome sequencing isolates: What can it tell us?

Our study demonstrates that majority of TB cases may be due to reactivation of latent infection, with only about 20% of sequenced cases due to transmission. As majority of cases also did not report symptoms of cough, strategies to detect and treat early or pre-disease states in high-risk groups such as diabetics or elderly should be evaluated further.
