Key Impacts
Determinants of tuberculosis-related stigma among school-aged adolescents in Bangkok, Thailand
Several factors have been associated with TB-related stigma, including sex, age, grade level, type of accommodation, and attitudes toward pulmonary TB. The study suggests that targeted interventions should be implemented to improve TB knowledge, promote positive attitudes toward pulmonary TB, and strengthen advocacy and social mobilization. These efforts are essential to reduce TB stigma and discrimination both direct and indirect within educational institutions such as public and private schools, vocational colleges, and universities.
