Key Impacts

Cost effectiveness of 1HP vs 3HP in HIV-negative contact persons with latent TB infection in Brazil

Due to its shorter regimen duration and similar safety events, 1HP presents a more cost-effective alternative to 3HP for adults exposed to TB in their homes. Combined with the UltraCurto safety results, these findings support the wider adoption of 1HP for TB prevention in the adult population. Future research should explore safety and cost-effectiveness of 1HP in other populations including children and pregnant and lactating persons.
