Biography

Dr. Vinnard is an infectious disease physician with dual training in clinical epidemiology and pharmacometrics. Prior to joining the Gates Medical Research Institute as a Clinical Development Leader, Dr. Vinnard led an independent academic research program focused on the optimization of first-line TB therapies, and later served as clinical lead on early development industry projects. In his free time, he enjoys gardening and spending time with his family.

In pursuit of an improved oxazolidinone for TB: A phase 1 trial evaluating safety, tolerability, pharmacokinetics, and food effect of TBD09 (MK-7762) in healthy adults

The results of Gates MRI-TBD09-101 support continued development of TBD09. Additional clinical trials with longer dosing durations and in participants with TB are planned to further characterize the safety and efficacy of TBD09.
