Biography

Dr. Christine Sekaggya-Wiltshire is an Internal Medicine Physician Mulago National Referral Hospital and Senior Research Scientist at the Infectious Diseases Institute, Makerere University College of Health Sciences. My primary research interest is in HIV, tuberculosis and non-malignant hematology. She has led clinical trials, pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenomic studies evaluating doses of anti-tuberculosis therapy including the safety, efficacy and drug-drug interactions related to high dose rifampicin and isoniazid. She has led TB case finding studies involving community health workers and use of private sector, particularly private pharmacies for TB screening, diagnosis and linkage to care in rural and urban Uganda, and projects aimed at integration of management of non-communicable diseases in TB care. She is a previous EDCP fellow, current African Academy of Sciences Affiliate, member of the WHO Scientific Development Group for Target Product Profiles for TB diagnostics and Technical Advisory Committee for dosing of TB drugs.
