Biography
Dr. Céline Cougoule is a CNRS Researcher at the Institute of Pharmacology and Structural Biology (IPBS) in Toulouse, France. Her research focuses on host-pathogen interactions in respiratory infections, particularly tuberculosis. Dr. Cougoule utilizes human lung organoids to model the airway environment and study the effects of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other pathogens. By infecting these organoids, she investigates how the host's immune cells respond to infection and how pathogens exploit host pathways. Her work aims to identify novel therapeutic strategies that modulate host immune responses to enhance the efficacy of existing treatments and combat antimicrobial resistance.
