Biography

Dr Carina King is an Infectious Disease Epidemiologist with a focus on paediatric pneumonia diagnosis, treatment and management in sub-Saharan Africa, including the role of pulse oximetry and strengthening oxygen systems. She has conducted research in several countries, including Malawi, Nigeria, Bangaldesh and the UK. Her particular interest is clinical research conducted at the community level. Dr King has received her PhD in Infectious Epidemiology from Imperial College London and her MSc in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She is a lead author on the Lancet Global Health Oxygen Commission.
