Biography
I am a medical doctor with 25 years of working experience. I have a master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology from Erasmus University Rotterdam and a PhD in tuberculosis from Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. My professional career ranges from clinician to public health practitioner, researcher, and lecturer. My current research interests are infectious disease control, epidemiology, and quality of care. Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral research fellow at Radboud Institute for Health Sciences, Nijmegen, The Netherlands, and RC3ID UNPAD with a focus on evaluating the cascade of care and implementing tNGS for drug resistant-TB in West Java, Indonesia.
Key Impacts
Prevalence and distribution of genomic drug-resistance of anti-TB drugs in West Java, Indonesia
Most of the samples confirmed drug resistance to mostly first-line anti-tuberculosis drugs, and a regular surveillance is warranted to monitor second-line drug resistance especially in the era of BPaL/M regimen.

Operational performance of GeneXpert for TB diagnosis in West Java province, Indonesia: A public health evaluation
The Indonesian TB program has made significant progress in GeneXpert implementation. Residual challenges require multisectoral solutions and underscore the need to address real-world constraints in designing and implementing new TB diagnostics.

Challenges of diabetes mellitus and drug-resistant TB co-management in Indonesia: A qualitative study
The fragmentation of diabetes care and DR-TB management, coupled with a low understanding of diabetes, caused inoptimal co-management of diabetes and DR-TB. Approaches to reducing this fragmentation should be people-centred, addressing their perceptions, costs and comfort.

Implementation of targeted next-generation sequencing for drug-resistant TB detection in Indonesia
tNGS shows strong potential to be a rapid genomic diagnostic tool in detecting DRTB. However, addressing the identified barriers is critical to ensure its successful integration into routine diagnostic settings.

Characterisation of M. tuberculosis drug resistance using targeted next-generation sequencing: Observations from Indonesia
Our study showed that tNGS demonstrates comparable diagnostic accuracy to current standard drug susceptibility tests. However, additional data are needed, particularly for Group A drugs such as linezolid, bedaquiline, and clofazimine.
