'Ring Survey' - An innovative blending of active case finding and contact tracing activity under National TB Program. An insight from West Bengal, India

Through the ring survey a higher proportion of female PwTB was detected in comparison to routine passive case findings (40% vs 30%). The overall yield of the ring survey may be further increased by conducting the survey at least twice including once at the end of treatment of the index case. This model may be replicated in other high burden areas with context-specific modification.
