Biography
Mr. Bijay Maharjan works as a Project Manager at the Japan-Nepal Health and Tuberculosis Research Association. He is responsible to ensures TB services are accessible to people through out TB patient pathway and cascade of TB care and provide technical supports of the National Tuberculosis Program. He is a public health professional. He has more than 10 years of experience working for the tuberculosis program. He is a PhD Scholar at Kochi Medical School, Kochi University, Japan. He has contributed to several research initiatives and written for a number of scholarly publications in international peer-reviewed journals.

Expanding private pharmacy engagement in TB program is essential. Future efforts should ensure accessibility of molecular WHO-recommended rapid diagnostic test, availability of sufficient advocacy materials, and establish a system to track patient visits to pharmacies for improved monitoring and case detection.
