Biography


A/Prof. Bernadette Saunders is a cellular immunologist specializing in tuberculosis, a chief investigator of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Tuberculosis Control. Her basic science research is focused on identifying new biomarkers to aid the diagnosis of active TB disease, while her education interests involves curriculum development, improved delivery methods and assessment. She completed a PhD at The University of Melbourne and she moved to the Centenary Institute and the University of Sydney where she was a Rolf Edgar Lake Fellowship Scholar and established her own research group, before taking up the academic position at UTS in 2015.
