Biography

Dr. Garcia-Prats is a pediatrician with extensive experience in the clinical care and programmatic management of pediatric HIV and tuberculosis in resource-limited settings. His primary research interest is multidrug-resistant (MDR) TB in children and the pharmacokinetics and safety of anti-tuberculosis drugs in children. He is leading multiple observational studies and phase I and II trials of novel TB drugs and improved regimens for RR-TB treatment in children. He is the Principal Investigator of the Unitaid-funded BENEFIT Kids project that aims to improve access for children to better MDR-TB treatment and prevention.
