Biography
Anne Shapiro is a PhD candidate in the department of Biostatistics at Boston University. Her primary research interests include developing methods to use surveillance and other regularly collected data to better understand TB epidemiology and to quantify the TB care cascade and applying such methods identify barriers to accessing and receiving care.
Key Impacts
Using whole genome sequencing and other metadata to estimate factors associated with TB transmission in Lima, Peru
We designed a method to produce adjusted ORs that appropriately account for the correlation of pairwise genetic relatedness data and serve as an accurate proxy for the association of covariates and transmission. This method can be applied to any dataset with WGS and is a valuable tool to further our knowledge of risk factors associated with TB transmission.
