Biography

Dr. Anastasia (Tasha) Koch, a molecular mycobacteriologist, co-founded Eh!woza an independent NPO in Cape Town. Trained at the University of Cape Town, Tasha pursued postdoctoral research before dedicating full-time in 2020 to overseeing Eh!woza’s work, which focuses on community engagement's knowledge dynamics and social determinants of health impacting biomedical intervention uptake. Tasha maintains part-time roles in biomedical research and serves as Honorary Lecturer at UCT and advisor to the Desmond Tutu Health Foundation. Tasha is enrolled in an MBA at UCT and was selected for the 2025 cohort of the Aspen Global Leadership Network’s African Leadership Initiative.
