Resilient TB contact tracing amid crisis: Evaluating household-based screening during the COVID-19 pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic severely disrupted TB contact tracing. However, household-based screening rapidly restored high screening levels, demonstrating resilience during public health emergencies. The subsequent decline highlights the need for sustained investment and support to maintain program effectiveness. To ensure continuity of TB services during future disruptions, policymakers should institutionalize flexible household-based screening models within national TB elimination strategies.
