Biography
Dr. Musinguzi is a public health physician and early career researcher in Uganda who is dedicated to developing and enhancing tuberculosis (TB) and tuberculosis preventive treatment (TPT) interventions for people living with HIV while ensuring effective implementation in resource-limited settings. He has practiced medicine for the past 10 years in Uganda's public health care system.
Key Impacts
Factors associated with 28-month TB incidence after isoniazid-rifapentine (3HP) among Ugandan adults with HIV
The 28-month incidence of TB was low among PLWH who received a single course of 3HP for prevention, suggesting that repeat 3HP administration is not needed within this period. Programs should focus on ensuring high adherence and treatment completion, particularly for self-administered therapy.
