Key Impacts
Prevalence and clinical implications of Aspergillus infection in a PeruvianTB cohort
This is the largest suspected TB cohort to be evaluated with anti-Aspergillus serology. Our preliminary findings indicate that among those who are microbiologically negative for TB at the time of diagnosis, 6% or more may have CPA instead. CPA is an underrecognized differential diagnosis for TB and Aspergillus positivity may be predictive of poor response to TB treatment.
