Biography

Alanna Bergman is a nurse scientist whose program of research includes social and structural barriers to tuberculosis and HIV care engagement. As a clinician providing care to people living with HIV and other infectious diseases, Alanna became particularly interested in stigma and its impact on an individual’s mental health, quality of life and ability to seek and complete treatment. Alanna uses qualitative, mixed-methods, and community-based research to explore and intervene upon social inequity.
