She directly supervises the USAID TB Local Organizations Network (LON 3) project in Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, and Osun States, providing oversight for effective planning and implementation of the project aimed at detecting and treating tuberculosis cases, as well as scaling up COVID-19 vaccinations in these States and strengthening sustainable systems for health.
Key Impacts
Invisible populations, visible impact: Reaching nomadic and hard-to-reach populations through community TB interventions in Northern Nigeria
This intervention demonstrates that with context-specific strategies, community systems can effectively identify TB cases among populations historically excluded from formal health systems. Investing in locally adapted models, leveraging traditional structures, and optimizing last-mile logistics can transform TB case finding in underserved populations and accelerate progress toward TB elimination in fragile settings.
